BAKERS UPRISING

We are a Lancaster, PA based collective of home and licensed bakers focused on creating impact with human rights and social justice in mind for all members of our local community through baked goods.

This grassroots organization was established in 2020 and has been a meaningful way for us to be involved in our Lancaster community. Working with fellow bakers means we can can make a greater impact together to support these wonderful organizations Lancaster is fortunate to have.

This was our very first event that we put together and hosted at Square One Coffee on June 20th, 2020. We joined in on the global wide event within our own community here in Lancaster. We chose to support Crispus Attucks Community Center. This event is what started the conversation and set the spark for us all to continue to bring bake sales into our community.

This was our most recent and largest event! This bake sale was to benefit Domestic Violence Services through Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County. We had 17 bakers lined up with plenty of fall inspired baked goods for the day (over 500 baked goods) and we sold out within 45 minutes! Pizza Tent also joined us, and collectively we raised over $3,000. This bake sale was held at Musser Park on the most beautiful fall day we have had yet. Let us continue to envision a World where home can become a safe place for everyone.

This event has now become annual!

With the most recent success of our DVS bake sale, we are planning to continue hosting events throughout 2022!
