local and mid-Atlantic Sourcing
Our commitment level to our regional farms is a top priority of our business. According to The Department of Agriculture of PA, “Pennsylvania is home to 7.7 million acres of land in farms with the average farm size of 133 acres. The Commonwealth boasts 57,900 farms, 97% of which are family-owned.” That means the foods grown in PA are providing nourishment to PA citizens, like yourself, as well as keeping our investments within our own economy. Another key piece of this commitment is that we bake seasonally. As a simple example; we will not be using berries in winter (unless it was canned or jammed from the prior season), which ensures we are creating the best possible products we can for you with the best possible ingredients. Flour is often always overlooked, you consider it to be the white dust that lines our grocery store shelves, but their is a grain revolution unfolding and thankfully our local mills are finally receiving the credit they deserve for their labor of love taking hold throughout communities all over the country. Making all grain we source a top priority ingredient as well. What I cannot find within our state of PA I believe in sourcing the highest quality ingredients found within our Mid-Atlantic region. Choosing to run my business with this level of commitment means that your support of my business also translates to these regional farmers and their practices. I am choosing to invest in a local food system that can complete a full circle from farmer, miller, baker, to you as my customer.

Meaning the whole grain goodness is mixed throughout the flour to provide all the benefits of the grain itself.
